Gustav Klimt (1862 – 1918) was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. In his early career, he was a successful painter of architectural decorations but in his later years he moved into what is known as his “golden period”, using gold leaf prominently in many of his works. It is from this period that his famous work ‘The Kiss’ comes, as does the ‘Tree of Life’. This work is the only landscape to come from his “golden period”, and is said to symbolise the perpetuity of life as well as qualities of both the masculine and feminine aspects of humanity.
The vase measures 12.5cm tall.
Gentle hand wash only if necessary.
