Description
Klawe biscuit moulds are made from pear wood, a fine grain wood that has been the wood of choice for European biscuit moulds for centuries. This wood has a very fine grain, allowing for intricate designs to be carved in the wood without splitting the mould.
Many countries around Europe have a tradition of making moulded biscuits for special occasions, and these moulds allow you to bring a little taste of Europe home to your kitchen. Use them to make Springerle (a type of South German biscuit with an embossed design) or Speculoos (a spiced shortcrust biscuit, traditionally baked for St. Nicholas’ day in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and for Christmas in Germany and Austria).
