T&G Oblique salt and pepper mills use the ultimate grinding mechanism! The CrushGrind® ceramic mechanism allows you to effortlessly grind not only salt and pepper but also whole dried herbs and spices.
This special mechanism is excellent for grinding dried herbs and spices which both quickly lose both aroma and flavour once they are ground, because the essential oils rapidly evaporate. Buying coarsely ground dried seasonings and milling them in a T&G CrushGrind® mill when you need them releases the oils, restoring the taste and flavour to the level of something freshly picked!
To change the grind, simply rotate the wheel on the bottom of the mill. The mechanism has twelve different grinding settings from very fine up to very coarse.
To refill the mill, remove the stopper from the top. Only use salt that is labelled ‘suitable for grinders’. Do not use flaky salt as this is not intended for grinders. We strongly recommend you do not use Himalayan pink salt, as most grinders are not designed to handle it.
Note: To maximise the life of any salt or pepper mill, always grind clockwise. Grinding anti-clockwise doesn’t work very well, and grinding back and forth will damage the mechanism.
