Description
The Zwilling Oval Diamond Sharpening Steel gives you the power to bring your knives back to tip-top cutting condition. The rod of the steel has a diamond coating which enables you to sharpen your knives far faster than a traditional whetstone, no matter how blunt. The oval shape of the rod makes this steel a good choice for beginners as the wider surface makes it easier to maintain contact between the knife and the steel. The ergonomic handle allows you to hold the steel securely while you work, and the eyelet at the end is a convenient way to hang it up for later use.
To use the steel, place one end on a secure surface – a chopping board or a tea towel – and hold it vertically. Then place the edge of your knife against the steel, and then, using light pressure, pull the knife slowly towards you from the heel to the tip. Repeat this several times on each side until you feel the blade is sharp enough.
