Handmade in France since 1850, each piece of Emile Henry ovenware is unique and signed by the craftsman that created it.
The special clay used in their creation comes straight from Burgundy and is used to make Emile Henry’s special formula HR® (High Resistance) ceramic. It heats evenly for gentle baking and browning, bringing out the most subtle flavours in your dishes, and will keep your dishes hot for a long time after being removed from the oven. The supremely durable glaze resists scratches and will not chip, crack, or craze over time, nor will it absorb odours or flavours.
The incredibly sturdy ceramic can be used directly under the grill or for reheating or defrosting in the microwave. Every Emile Henry oven dish is oven-safe up to 270°C (520°F).
Allow your dish to cool down completely before cleaning. Do not pour cold water onto a hot dish as it may shatter from the thermal shock.
For stubborn baked on residue, soak in hot water and white vinegar before cleaning.
Emile Henry dishes are dishwasher safe but we recommend hand washing to maximise the life of your dish.
